Simpler healthcare,
one delivered prescription
at a time.

The tendency to switch pharmacies is rare, especially when
habits are formed at traditional pickup pharmacies.

Current State

10% of our Rx related requests are fulfilled by delivery pharmacies — meaning there’s a large opportunity to help our patients discover that their medications can be delivered.

As a patient renewing a medication, there’s no incentive or understanding for why they should change their pharmacy.

“I know my local pharmacy isn’t the best, but it’s what I’m used to. I tend to call ahead to see if my prescriptions are ready, so I can grab them while getting my groceries.”

Approach

Problem

Patients shouldn’t have to be bothered with logistical tasks such as: remembering to call to check and dedicating time to go retrieve the medication.

As a first pass, identified areas that we can surface delivery — via the homescreen (as a more promotion), assigned tasks to our users to complete, and surfacing during an ordering flow.

Surface delivery as a service contextually

Educating the patient as they’re ordering a prescription, in this moment, is the largest opportunity for our patients to take the discoverability/nudge seriously that they can have their medications delivered.

In a period of 30 days, ~9,000 members from start to end have selected delivery to receive their medications.
